What does Rotary membership cost?
+
Rotary membership involves an admission fee and annual dues, set by the board and confirmed at the organizational meeting. There is also an RI per-capita fee and a Rotary magazine subscription. Members are encouraged over time to work toward Paul Harris Fellow status ($1,000 to The Rotary Foundation).
When and where are meetings?
+
Thursday breakfast meetings, weekly, in Pageland, SC. The specific venue and start time will be confirmed at the organizational meeting before May 22, 2026. Guests are always welcome to visit before committing.
What is the attendance requirement?
+
Members must attend or make up at least 50% of regular meetings each half-year and attend at least 30% in person. Make-up credit is earned by visiting other Rotary clubs worldwide, attending service projects, or participating in board meetings. The policy is structured but flexible.
Do I need to be a business owner?
+
No. Rotary is open to adult persons of good character with a good professional or community reputation. Educators, healthcare providers, civic leaders, and community servants are all welcome. Each member holds a "classification" reflecting their primary professional activity.
What is the vocational classification system?
+
Each member holds a classification based on their principal profession (e.g. attorney, physician, real estate, education, banking). This ensures the club represents a diverse cross-section of Pageland's community. Clubs generally limit any single classification to five members to maintain that diversity.
What if I travel frequently?
+
Members can attend any Rotary club meeting worldwide — each visit counts as a valid make-up. Extended international travel counts fully toward attendance requirements. With 46,000+ clubs in 200 countries, you're never far from a Thursday meeting.
What is the Paul Harris Fellow program?
+
Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded by The Rotary Foundation to anyone contributing $1,000 (cumulative or at once). Fellows receive a bronze medallion, certificate, and lapel pin. The Rotary Club of Pageland has set a goal for all members to achieve this honor over time.
Why is July 4, 2026 non-negotiable?
+
July 4, 2026 is America's 250th birthday — the Semiquincentennial. The founding team chose this date deliberately. Every charter document and future member will know this club was born on the most historically significant day of our generation. That is the founding legacy.
What is the Club Creation Team (CCT)?
+
The CCT is Rotary International's official North American new-club support platform. It walks founding members through chartering step by step, connects you directly with your District advisor Patrick Longano, tracks application progress, and manages the official paperwork. It is the required channel for all new clubs in North America.
Is there a District 7770 assembly I should attend?
+
Yes. The Rotary Assembly 2026 in Orlando (January 11–15, 2026) is the premier training event for District 7770 Rotarians. The president-elect must attend the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) as a condition of taking office. All founding members are encouraged to connect with district events early.
